Special Election 2025

The TXPC is hosting a members' vote on three (3) items:

  1. The TXPC has a vacancy in its Executive Leadership that needs to be filled. Clayton Tucker, Chair of the TXPC, is resigning to run for TX Agriculture Commissioner.
  2. The TXPC is seeking to update its bylaws.
  3. If the bylaw amendments pass, a transition resolution will also need to be passed.

Filing Period: June 22-28th
Candidate Meet & Greet with TXPC Members: Sat July 12th, 2 pm (via Zoom)
Voting Period: July 14-20th
Swearing in: July 21st

To be qualified to run for TXPC Chair, a candidate must: 1) be a TXPC member in good standing for at least 6 months, & 2) be a Democrat.

    • Executive Summary: Moves TXPC's leadership elections to odd years (i.e. the off years), updates membership rules, renames "President" and "Vice President" to "Chair" & "Vice Chair," refines the TXPC's committee structure, etc.

    • Executive Summary: The current bylaws require Executive Leadership to be elected during even year, but the proposed bylaws moves elections to odd years. This would extend the current Executive Leadership & Advisory Board by one (1) year to serve until the next election as required in the proposed bylaws (2027).

WHO CAN VOTE

Only TXPC Members can vote. Ballots shall be sent via email and text.

  • The TXPC shall use electronic Ranked Choice Voting for this election.
  • This election is overseen by the TXPC Elections Committee: Kristi Lara, Hatem Natsheh, & Wesley Lawrence.
