We call for the TX Democratic Party to find a way to display a public agenda for Convention Business for the 2026 Texas Democratic Convention.
While state law requires political parties to elect officers during a gubernatorial year convention, state law does not mention "which" convention or how many conventions a political party can have. State law also says everyone who becomes a state delegate remains so until the next primary. Hosting a specialty convention after the November election but before December 31st via Zoom Webinar would be a cheap, easy, inclusive, and democratic way for us to elect statewide party officers. Voting can be done in a way similar to the 2020 Convention.
We call for the TX Democratic Party to change the rules to allow state delegates to elect the State Chair and other Statewide Party Officers during a virtual convention after the November election but before the end of December.
Join us at our Convention Progressive Happy Hour at The Goldfish! This is a free event.

Progressives deserve representation! We need **AT LEAST** one of the statewide candidates in the 2026 election to be a progressive!
We call upon the Texas Democratic Party to allow remote voting for State Delegates starting in 2026. This measure, which passed the Permanent Rules Committee in 2024 but was killed by the quorum break, will allow delegates who are unable to attend in person to still have their voices heard. Too few Democrats are able to truly participate in the State Convention -- whether due to not being able to take time off from work, limited financial resources, illness, and more. This reform will allow them to participate in the governance of their Party.
