    Party Endorsements 2026

The Texas Progressive Caucus strives to build & strengthen the Texas Democratic Party. We support progressives, reformers, and others who believe in building a stronger Democratic Party. Below is a list of some of those who we believe, if elected, will make Texas stronger.

    PROCESS & GUIDING PHILOSOPHY

Ideology without power is nothing more than us running our mouths. Ideology by itself does not feed the hungry or house the homeless; only progressive ideology in tandem with power can do that.

With many suffering under the GOP Monopoly of power in state government, the only way to systematically help all Texans is to shatter that monopoly. It’ll take a coalition to break up the GOP Monopoly; Texas Progressives will be a part of that coalition, and we will have a seat at the table. This is why we are in the business of building power for Texas Progressives for the benefit of the people of Texas. We have 3 criteria when considering a candidate:

      1. Policies: Are they sufficiently progressive for the office they are seeking? An official without good policies won’t help many people.
      2. Personality: Can they withstand the pressures of being in office? An official who cracks under pressure or burns too many bridges won’t be effective at helping people.
      3. Power: Can they amass the human and economic resources to win, or at least push the needle forward depending on the district? A candidate who cannot at least push the needle forward as a part of a long-term/multi-cycle strategy, won’t, at the end of the day, help people.

From these criteria, we add candidates into one of two groups:

      1. Recommended/Certified Progressive: This person received a passing score on our endorsement application and was rated as certified progressive by the committee.
      2. Endorsed: Our members voted to rally behind this one candidate.

    Important Details:

      1. All applications will be reviewed by the TXPC Endorsements Committee.
      2. Endorsement application for the State District Executive Committee (SDEC) closes May 27, 2026. Announcement will be made June 15, 2026.
      3. For Party Officers, a membership poll will be conducted on June 1 and closes June 5, 2026. Announcement will be made June 8, 2026. You must be a member by April 1, 2026.

To apply for TXPC endorsement for SDEC, you can access application here. (application closed)

It’ll take collective power to return Texas Blue.  Progressives are a key component of that collective.  Our energy, policies, and drive will help the collective win. There’s is no us winning as individuals or us losing as individuals; in a state living under a hateful GOP Monopoly, there’s only us winning as a collective or us losing as a collective. The TXPC works to build power for Texas Progressives so that, one day, we can play our role in the Democratic symphony that will break the GOP Monopoly on Power and return common decency to state government.

If you are a progressive and applied for a TXPC endorsement this cycle, and did not receive one, we encourage you to get involved with our organization, join our ranks, apply again in a future election and/or party cycle, and help us flip the state of Texas!

    About the Endorsements

    How we vetted candidates:

    1. Policies: Healthcare, Climate, Cannabis, Peace, Fair Trade, Agriculture, Unions, Pro-Choice, Big Tech, Guns, Immigration, LGBTQ Rights, Racism, Voting Rights, & more
    2. Enhancements: Ranked Choice Voting, Term Limits, Audits, Creating a Shared Federated Activist Database, Greater use of Hybrid Meetings, Grassroots Council, etc.
    3. Background: Past performance, reliability, do they show up, background information, feedback from relevant allies when applicable, etc.

    Not Me, Us

When conflicts of interest arose, such as considering an endorsement for a person in TXPC Leadership, said individual was forced to leave the discussion.

The TXPC is committed to not playing favorites & is dedicated to the movement as a whole. We maintained a strict rule of “No Automatic Endorsements” & always assumed room for growth.

Endorsements were both earned and strategic for the betterment of our Party.
